This is a very cool idea, but it sounds like reforging without the RNG aspect. If this were to become a reality I feel as though there would be to many God-tier weapons everywhere.

Interesting idea but ya god weapons everywhere.

So now we are constrained to having conspiracy theory as the go to "norm" shot gun. (Everyone has that) or can get it. Perfect roll with maxed range. That's not a god gun? 1000 yard state? Same model as the amazing LDR. Great stats and unflinching on that makes it op as fck. Everyone has this also. If this system was implemented it would have to have limits. You can't roll a maxed stability weapon with full range. Ect ect - playing with one stat affects another.
-
And why is that bad? Everyone has access to these rolls and could customise their own loadout. I was a big fan of reforging as it balanced the game. Why should someone outperform you, because he had a lucky RnG roll? It's simply not fair, looking at it from a skill perspective at least.
-
This ^^^ now we are constrained to what weapons we are forced to use because they have the perks we want.

Edited by Killlerschaf: 1/3/2016 5:47:46 PM:) I purely talk out of a skill perspective though. That it might destroy weapon diversity is another problem, but then again, every meta inherently restricts that one. I personally thought that reforging was the best thing Bungie ever did for the PvP.

Agreed - and for pve. I loved reforge and would never have beaten skolas without re forge. On arc burn week I rolled a "fear" rocket launcher in arc. Tri cartridge and tracking so I could use patience and time also. Re forge was amazing and a great addition to the game. The grind is point less now. Look at iron banner. 1:200 matches to possibly get what gun you want. Then 1:10000 chance to get what perks you want. Great diversity in weapons going on there. Now it's all conspiracy and 1000 yard stare. I haven't even touched my binary dawn, party crasher or next big thing. Fck em' they don't fit my play style.
-
You didn't try the 4th Horsemen on arc burn week? :O That was by far the most hilarious thing to do xD
-
Xbox 360 didn't have the fabled weapon back then. I would love to have done it though. I used "the witness" weapon! Found verdict. ;o)
-
I see what you are saying, but everyone would be running around with nearly identical weapons and I think that would lead to another "Felwinter's Lie" problem and dare I say it... NERFS.
-
Nearly identical weapons=balance I know it's not the kind of balance a lot of people have in mind, but when everyone uses a very similar kind of gun with similar perks, you enter the territory of skill being the decisive factor, and not the weapon anymore.
-
Felwinter just got given another name. It has God perks also. Back then it wasn't re forge that was the problem. It was the meta itself - shotguns would hit shit at crazy ranges. SAD that people keep equating that to re forge. :(
-
The reforging allowed for those shotguns to hit at even longer ranges with the God-tier roll.
-
So if that were true why not remove ALL those perks? Instead of using the weapon people wanted to use they just use - conspiracy theory. It has those perks, max range and no need to re forge? Those weapons already exist. Yes not like re forging is the only way to get a good gun. Rng and random perks de values all the other guns. Simple.
