This has been a problem since TTK dropped. To receive rewards, you just have to go back to orbit and they'll pop up in your inventory. I [b]would not[/b] switch characters. I noticed last IB that I switched characters and missed out on rewards on one of my characters once.
Just go back to orbit after talking to Salad Bar and you should be good.

Ah shit. If that's the case i might have already messed up. I did switch character before going back to orbit. Would that mean the package isn't going to show up at all now?

Give it a shot. I do know that I had to go to orbit earlier today to get my rewards on my warlock. Lemme know how it goes for you!
