Ok , if your reading this know I've done my research and all that is necessary to make this kind of comment.
Ok so year 1 we had DlC. Which some loved and some found lack luster. That's no surprise.
Now, we have eververse and a live team. All of which are great. I love the direction.
Now as a COMMUNITY. I feel as though we SHOULD know what exactly eververse is paying for.
Urk has given us a heads up that there will be another event early 2016. Ok great wonderful.
He has also said there will be a huge update after. They failed to tell us whether we will be paying for it. I personally feel as though if we WERNT paying. He would have basically yelled it at us. We have dealt with sooo much change in their game. And that's OKAY . I get it. But everyone's so worried about nerfs and other nonsense that we have no control over. STOP.
If this is the new direction. Please don't leave us in the cold about it. It's not funny. And if I need to pay? I need to know now. We ALL do. PLEASE bungie. Pull back the curtain just a bit. I get things may change. But its not wrong to tell your community what your doing. And waiting a month or a week before is just not ok. I had 3 days to prepare for sparrow racing. I had no idea I may have needed an extra20$ to get a better experience. And for that I was unable to buy the book . I get some of you may have endless money. Or parents with deep pockets but I don't. And I believe we should ALL know what's going on. .
Guardians, please focus more on this. And bump or reply. Whatever needs to be done. And I'm sure we will get answers to this very important question .
"What is the future of the Last City and its Guardians?"
Day 2 Edit: Thank you all who posted Positive Feedback. Let's keep this page growing. Bump and reply
ATTENTION GUARDIANS. WE ARE TRENDING. GOOD WORK
Edit 2: See Bungie currently replying to post. But Seemed to have "Skipped" this one...

15 RepliesEdited by Optimus96: 12/27/2015 9:29:08 PMBungie as been traveling in unknown territory since day 1 of development. Destiny is a shared world shooter on consoles (an other words an MMO).
Yes, I comparing Destiny to an MMO - deal with it.
There have been other attempts to make MMOs on console, but mostly unsuccessful. A big thing about MMOs is that the world is not static - they are always changing. But to do this, you need to talk to the playerbase. Bungie so happens to have a wonderful forum community (*sarcasm) that strongly voices their "opinions". Whenever Bungie decides to do something the community wants, they get attacked. And its not criticism even, just out right being attacked.
There is a fine line between criticism and hating.
The same goes for stuff that needed to be fix or implemented.
The Gally nerf, the infinite arrow glitch, the loot cave, the load of Crota bugs, ect.
*Bungie fixes their game. Community: Why are you taken all the fun away!!!

The simple fact that we are now getting free content and one of them has been asked for since day 1 (sparrow racing), should say how much Destiny has evolved from the TDB days ($20 for a less subpar, buggy content). From this, I get why they don't ever say anything anymore. Whatever they say is going to be picked apart by the community and be taken the wrong way.
I sware, some people make it their life goal to destroy Destiny.
And I know its not everyone
I see other "desticles" - as you call us.
but the minority is being outcasted by the majority (as always in history) and its causing a problem for us who actually enjoy the game (ie: lack of communication).

Much more entertained with other games right now. Destiny has lost its magic with me.

I will be making an INFLAMMATORY comment on your WELL-PUT and REASONABLE post to INCITE HATE and SALTINESS.

3 RepliesReal transparency has always been an issue with Bungie (at least with Destiny). Apparently any "answers" you or I are looking for will not happen until January 21st with the next weekly update. Idecided to log back on to Destiny after a nearly 2 month hiatus to check out SRL. Cannot really criticize something unless you try it, right? I admit the racing is fun. However, I find it disturbing that the best available gear has been locked behind a $10 paywall. If locking gear behind a paywall continues I doubt I will partake in Destiny 2. I personally do not like that business model. If Bungievi$ion decides to move to a subscription base then wide rangng micro-transactions make sense. Doing it on a pay-up-front game is just bad for gamers. Bungie needs to decide. Either continue to charge upfront for the game and DLCs and make the micro-transactions cosmetic only or go to a subscription model and have broader micro-transaction sales. They cannot ethically have it both ways.

Bungie did announce that there will be NO DLC until Destiny 2 in September 2016. There will be mini events and content sprinkled in throughout the year to keep us engaged. I would look for SRL to be a monthly event similar to IB, also look for VOG, CE and POE to make it to year 2.

Bump sir.

you will never catch the dragon. you just keep paying and paying and paying and paying. you get really close to catching the dragon but you will never catch it. kind of like heroin hero.
-
The reason they're not telling us anything is probably because they're not sure what they'll do yet. Urk did say that the stuff was still on the drawing board, and they also probably want to keep everything a surprise.
-
I think a lot of the change and lack of transparency in year 2 has to do with the fact that they don't have any cut content to pitch at us for 20-40 bucks a pop. Because they already had TDB, HoW, and TTK planned out as being part of vanilla, and then cutting it, they were able to offer things like a season pass because they knew the content was already there. So I believe someone else already posted it, but I agree. I think they're just making it up as they go along in year 2. I just wish they would actually read some of the incredible fan lore that some of the community has so eloquently put together and incorporate it into future stories and downloads.

2 RepliesI'd say if we don't get new content or at least make old content viable again this game is on its way out. I love playing Destiny but the only thing I look forward to is ToO. The rest is getting a bit stale. I do still raid but when something gets to easy it gets boring. Just my two cents.
-
1 ReplyLet's hope they just update the game world and bring year1 raids and POE to level 40. Take our elemental damage if they have to and I'll be happy. We paid for it last year and now it's irrelevant. Not great as we have half a game at the moment.
-
Sooooo youre saying Bungie needs to stop keeping us in the dark about their payment plans for the future? If so I agree
-
2 RepliesEdited by PumpRogue: 12/28/2015 9:26:35 PMThe best part about this post is that op spelled "okay" two different ways
-
3 RepliesThey aren't choosing to hide it from us. They just don't know what to say because they don't have it planned. They admitted that the next year of content was on sticky notes and scribbles on a white board. They literally are just making it up as they go in Year 2.
-
7 RepliesTo put it simply, Bungie has never been upfront about anything untill they 100% where sure how it was going to be, As far as paying for the content they probably havent decided on anything yet. However I would say the way the last 2 live event ran is a good indicator of how the next ones will go, you can pay for stuff if you want they will be special to what you buy or will jsut help you complete a collection but they will not be anything that is game changing.

Mate get a grip of yourself and get a life!!! Lol, bet you'd be a hoot at a party p.s not a chat party

Agree. BUNGIE! I am talking to you, so pay attention. Giving us an "advance warning" is really just an opportunity for you to hype (another word for advertise) your upcoming event(s). This is just marketing 101. You are not "pulling back the curtain" as some have called it. You are hyping your product to your consumer. You are generating an interest toward your events, which include some purchasable items. And the beauty of the whole "advertising" deal, Bungie, Bubbie, you have the forum/destiny app to post this in, so yippee ki yay. And when you let us Guardians know in advance (I meant advertise) the events that are forthcoming, you will see an increase at Tess' kiosk. You can then invite me out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs.

Yeah, i completely agree. I don't mind throwing cash at my screen, it would make me want to more of I knew what is be getting down the line to.

12 RepliesI'd love more transparency as well. But just look around, mate. Every time Bungie has given us a heads up, EVERY SINGLE TIME, people have picked apart the most minute details of the announcement and cried foul if/when Bungie didn't deliver on what might have been glimpsed, guessed, deduced or simply PERCEIVED by this community. If I was sitting on the biggest desk in Bungie's marketing department, by now you can bet I'd keep my cards pretty close to my chest too.

Great, another ignorant manifesto. -blam!-ing sad, go get a job and help your mother with the bills you sponge.
-
After the backlash they received from the dark below and house of wolves I understand why they would be more secretive of upcoming content. It's because whatever they put out won't be good enough or worth (insert amount of money) to the community. SRL was free and people still complained about the "value" of content. But it's not just the destiny community. Every game suffers from this.
