Xur was only good for noobs that didn't have a chance to raid. He was the easy way to get exotics while you were starting off in the game. Now, after playing for months, there really is no purpose for Xur. Three of coins rarely works, Needles are random, exotics are low level and are the same stats as the ones that you can get from the kiosks. It's not exciting anymore
