I am sure it's not just Destiny, but Halo's MT's as well. Both hold top positions on sales numbers on both the PS4 and XBL ( in H5's case ) marketplaces. As he said in the article, he has spent more on F2P games than he would like to admit. As more companies see MT's a viable way to increase the revenue of a game, I wouldn't be surprised to see more and more MT's in future releases.

I wouldn't be surprised either. I just think it's an interesting butterfly effect that doing the Carlton on destiny will impact what may happen in games yet to come out.
