Yeah. I mean, half the movie is nostalgia but you can get everything without too much effort.
-
I guess, you won't get any of the stuff referencing the original trilogy, but you can. I recommend watching the old films first.
If you do decide to watch the old movies, watch them in the Machete Order: 4, 5, 2, 3, 6, ignore episode 1
No, too much context needed

You wouldnt get most of why people will be crying in the theater. Nothing will really resonate with you
-
Haha no
-
Go watch it. If you like it then go back and watch the originals.
-
you can watch the new one. it is basically a remake of the old ones. Nevertheless, watch the very old ones (4,5,6). they are master pieces, epic and just beautiful art of movie culture. they have been made 40 years ago and they still fascinate. the new ones are not bad either (1,2,3), just not as good as the old ones. watch the old ones first before you watch the newest one.

Edited by TheSkellyfish: 12/20/2015 12:19:22 PMThis is the new "im a vegan" Also watch the original three to appreciate the new one. Skip the prequels.

Lmao!
-
No the new one relies on the feelings of nostalgia for the original trilogy too much for someone to go in blind.
-
Ehhhh... yeah, but you won't get a lot of the point. It references things in previous movies. It'd be like trying to saber duel with your right hand chopped off. Also, watch A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back first. Just... do it. Those are the major two, and the big reveal of Empire is totally wrecked by Force Awakens.

I'm left handed
-
Yeah but you might miss some references and relationships that will change how characters react and whatnot. You'll also probably be confused about the Force and stuff.
-
Yes, the story is easy to pick up.
-
Yes, but it wonk be as funny, you won't get the repeated references to the previous movies or the recreations of scenes from the old movies that really make this one great
-
I'm into the style of Stars Wars as I am a huge fan of Mass Effect series if that counts.
-
Well it's more about running jokes and iconic scenes from episodes 4-6, but it isn't necessary to watch them
