Interesting.

It is indeed. The social credit thing would never work in the US in my opinion. What do you think?
-
Goodbye constitution.
-
Not only that, the individualism that is present on the cultural aspect of the United States would not let a project like this flourish.

Depends on how they sold it. Seems like all they have to do is make people think the terrorists are coming. Next thing you know the whole country thinks Islam's actual purpose is murdering, and they answer that by saying kill all Muslims. It's pretty ridiculous how xenophobic this scared little country has become. And for a country supposedly about freedom, we sure are some intolerant hypocritical -blam!-s! So I could easily somehow see it being accepted if they label it as protecting the citizens somehow.
-
I don't think so. Believe it or not the people of the United States are not xenophobic. There is a small really vocal group that is. Is shitty that muslims are taking the worst of it but the media is the driving force behind the problem. Calling the U.S a scared little country is disrespectful I personally wouldn't talk like that about any other country even knowing that is not in its best standing at the moment. If muslims where more vocal on their despise towards extremist behavior the problem wouldn't be so bad.

Well I'm just speaking from everything I witness living here on a daily basis. In media, in people around me, comments/blogs/write-ups. It's just prejudice towards any belief that's different. Afraid of anyone from another country. I can't tell you how common it is for me to see or hear someone say 'just kill all those stupid Muslims' or 'turn them all to glass'. Funny, cause they say that thinking Islam promotes terror, but in saying so are acting in the same manor! Then add in that everyone seems to think that e have to live in the Wild West with guns strapped to our hips. Actually hating other countries or beliefs isn't enough. We also turn it on ourselves. Republicans want to murder all dems, dems murder all reps. Blah blah blah! I've never really loved it here, or the people. But they were never so out of their mind insane, like they seem to be these days. Of course, with generalization, doesn't not mean all of them. It's just feeling like that small voice is becoming much more of a majority. Little by little. But quicker and quicker.

I live in SC and that is not the majority voice.
-
Well I am in Mississippi, it's a majority easily. Damned Bible Belt and all!

Agreed

I dunno. Look how many people sink their entire existence into games such as Destiny. The compulsion may be stronger than you think. I think there is a certain tipping point of buy-in where it becomes socially acceptable to add a penalty to not playing this program (Sesame Credit). Then, whether or not you want to go along, you have to go along.

The frightening thing is that it is being thought of and mandated in 2020.

Human rights aren't high on the list for China. We can only hope that in America we can count on the aversion to doing anything that makes us more like China.
