My problem is that Bungie knows it's a potential issue for new players and instead of a patch that improves the quality of life for everyone they have opted to sell a solution to a problem they created. There will be people moving to the new generation (360 to PS4) as well who will be tempted to buy their way ahead.

The drama is strong for sure, but even those of us who are level headed don't like where this is going. I can now see them selling stuff like "Armor boosts" that instantly level exotics, etc. Microtransactions that save time start to imply that things take a long time on purpose in order to inconvenience players into paying, and that quality of life improvements that cut into that revenue stream will become extinct.
