I'll say it again in case it wasn't clear: KDR is nigh meaningless. It tells you nothing about a player's actual skill; you could be the best shot in the world, mechanically inclined enough to hit a fly on the wall with a Sidearm from across the map. However, if you don't study every aspect of the game, learn every little trick, everything you can, your gun skill only takes you so far. I can play well, and have the capacity to think fast. KD is exacerbated by so many different factors, that it is rarely a determinent of skill, let alone the sole factor in skill. When I played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, my KD peaked at a 1.61. Over 60 percent of those kills were spawn kills, because the same enemies would spawn in my direct path, if not my line of sight, over and over again. The spawn system in that game was horrendous, and was easily exploited by rushers. Another factor in KDR is boosting. There are so many different ways: Gameplay boosting, reverse boosting, to sitting in the back of the map and letting one guy kill you, or vice versa, over and over again. You have little to no way of knowing what these people are actually doing. Then there is Objective gameplay. There are way too many damned people who pride themselves on KD whoring, and in a lot of cases it costs their team the game in Objective modes. The greater measure of skill, in all honesty, is win loss ratio. Objective points also play a huge factor in determining skill. Then, think about all of the people who went into PvP at first, having no idea what to expect. That initial drop, is damned hard, if not impossible to recover from. I know if you kill twice as many opponents as deaths you are helping your team win. assist aswell.And if you are dieing more then you are killing the opposition you are holding you're team back and contributing to the other team winning. ( we have all experienced this in destiny through iron banner) True in all shooters. How you want to go about staying alive or getting kills is your own business there is always a counter to every strategy. but KD like a persons record in sports, mma, and racing tell you exactly how good they are and what caliber they fall under. There is no way to dispute that sorry if you die a lot.

Again, it is not the sole determining factor. Are you not listening? If you're playing an objective game, and you have a guy simply hiding in a corner to get kills, never actually going for the objective, there's a pretty decent possiblity that your team could lose. There is a reason that there are so many people that cry #PTFO in those game types. If you weren't paying attention, KDR does NOT allow you to belittle, or invalidate anyone's educated opinions. KD is no measure of experience, and certainly not the sole factor in determining skill level. What about all of those people in the beginning of Destiny, whose KD couldn't possibly recover because they died so much early on? Those same people, can condition themselves to kick the collective asses of even the highest caliber of Trials players. Not that I have to explain myself to you, but yes, I have played Halo 3, Halo Reach, and EVERY Call of Duty title from Modern Warfare 2 up through Advanced Warfare. THAT is where my logic comes from.
