A review of the auto rifle controversy.
In a [url=https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Weapon-Tuning--December-Update/en/News/News?aid=14016]december update preview[/url] it was stated that auto rifles would be receiving the following buffs to their base damage:
+3% for low RoF
+7% for medium RoF
+4% for high RoF
Soon after the update released, the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14094]patch notes were edited[/url] to reflect the actual values of the buff, which were significantly (and in the case of high RoF, drastically) lower than what was originally stated.
+0.3% for low RoF
+0.7% for medium RoF
+[b]0.04%[/b] for high RoF
Sandbox designer Jon Weisnewski stated [url=https://twitter.com/sharkeatsman/status/674719551850868736]via Twitter[/url] that the larger values were a typo, implying that they were never intended to be implemented.

I honestly can't believe that it was a screw up. I also honestly can't believe they would think that a 0.04% increase in damage will do anything at all. There's got to be more going on here.

This is a legit reason for people to complain. Bungie -blam!-ed up on this one big time. These nerf's and buffs were pointless. Getting our hopes up then you barely touch the guns. We would have rather seen you nerf pulses to shit

Of all the things people bitch about, this is the most legit. Do they rally think we will believe it was originally a typo? A typo they left up for three weeks while we all yippee about it all over the forums? Bull. At best, this just shows incompetence, on a number of levels. At worst, it's a smack in our faces. Either way, they done F'd up.

What pisses me off is that since the announcement of the weapons adjustment I've been leveling up auto rifles at the cost of leveling up other stuff. They've just become ridiculous.
