A lot of people will probably disagree with this but I prefer to use the time breaker, the boost on it is insanely high compared to other sparrows. I use the right trigger boost a little before and after I hit a gate which boosts my speed considerably from around 120 to 150 and I've gotten it to go up as far as 180 before.

I won a race earlier on this account with the original sparrow that you first get, cuz I didn't have anything else. I finished my first 5 races so now I have the snowscream. So its mostly on the player.

If you get to max overdrive speed just before a gate you can get to just over 200

I use timebreaker too. Works well, except I have a problem of not hearing the sound it makes when it's about to explode and cost myself the race.

It's gonna blow after 3 whistle type sounds....I always left off gas after the second.

I went into audio options and turned off music. That helped a lot.

Honestly I play with no music in a lot of games because well the music shouldn't exist. It isn't part of the environment whatsoever. It interferes with sound cues too.

Look at the back of the sparrow. On both sides of the plasma trail are meters that go from green to red, when it hits red let go of boost, no sound needed

I'll hold it down at the last length of the race and I've come from behind plenty of times to win because of it. If you blow up as you're crossing the finish line it still counts.
