There should be a modifier in the drop logic which evaluated the statistics of the player related to frequency of playing or hours spent playing. A guy that plays 5h a day everyday, has 35h a week to get a drop, do the raids, find people and friends to form teams and go for the high end gear and weapons. I guy like me, that travels for work 3/4 days a week, that when I'm at home, I only play after giving my kids the attention they deserve, I'm more likely to NOT get a 300 drop in 5 years! Just the fact that to gather 5 other people that you dont know takes 20 minutes from the communities posts, makes a 2h night game unfeasible to go for KF or other Raid.
I dont want a "Touch of Malice" I want a legendary or Rare item at 300 so I can infuse to the ones I have.
We can get other measures of merit. You are a casual player, that plays 1 or 2 hour every other day. If you do a nightfall without dying, you are good! If you reached level 40, with less than "X" hours, you are good! If you have a kill/death rate higher than "X" with few hours playing or very few times playing in a month, you are good.
Many ways would give a guy who deserves a reward, without being unfair to those who got the high end stuff because they a real Elite.
You can't get endgame level rewards without doing the endgame. You're basically capped at 300 without doing the raid or trials.
But you only need endgame gear if you're doing endgame activities.
You can get plenty of 299 stuff from Court of Oryx though. Strike playlists can also be rewarding.
If you truly want to raid, groups are out there to help, if you look in the right places. If you're on ps4 I can run a Normal KF with you.
