So what exactly is a MOBA? And could anybody name a few games that are also MOBAs so I can have a reference?

A MOBA is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, usually with teams of 3-5 and AIs that are not nearly as powerful as the players, however very necessary to the game. Each side has one or two towers and a core. The towers come in front of the core, and the enemy core must be destroyed to win. SMITE, Dota, and League of Legends are MOBAs
