I wish Xbox's VR was more like PlayStation's. Maybe we could've gotten it too. Really hope it's a success though
Edit: Guess I really should've just said "Wish Xbox had some viable VR so we might've had a chance to play this too."

I believe the oculus was working with Microsoft or something (Don't count me in that. I'm 50% sure I'm wrong)

It is, but won't function as a vr device just a personal screen, probably still fairly immersive though I imagine

One more point though; you still need a high end pc to even use the oculus rift with the Xbox one. You stream the game to the PC which then streams it to the OR which puts you in a virtual theatre to play your game in. Not VR in the slightest.

Doesn't Microsoft have AR? Seems a lot cooler than VR. Will be getting both, but altered reality sounds awesome.

HoloLens seems to be both. I've seen demos making it look like AR, and demos making it look like VR. -
Hololens is an extremely tiny AR device, you will not be able to incorporate any kind of known VR with a display that small. The image is supposed to be about the size of a pack of playing cards while holding it at arms length. Kind of awful for gaming applications, though it could have some amazing applications in real life.
