Synths are not people. By definition they are robots. How is this an argument? People are really dumb these days.
Synths are not people. By definition they are robots. How is this an argument? People are really dumb these days.
Well some Synths can think, learn, and even feel pain, like humans. This is evident in that they escaped the institute. Why? Because they concluded they didn't want to be there, this can only be if they can reason, critical think and feel the emotion that they don't want to be there. Just because they aren't flesh and blood doesn't mean they aren't subject to the same rights we are. Imagine if that was you.

I'm not arguing that. Simply whether they are human or not. I'm completely for synth's rights. Lol sounds funny, like a real world issue.

No. They aren't human by definition. But they can be people. And they aren't completely robots either, at least not the gen 3 ones. Gen 3s have living tissues, flesh, blood, some organs, etc. They are biological and mechanical hybrids.

Were they born from a loving mother, or created in a lab?
-
How do you know you and your mother aren't just some much more intelligent being's little artificial intelligence project? Everything that comprises a human can be broken down, analyzed, and recreated given time. You're as artificial as any being we create with the same abilities. You're lying to yourself if you think a "warm, loving mother" constitutes "humanity" or "personhood" as it is more accurately described. Hey, how about all of the people born without a loving mother? How about the people whose mother died during birth? Not warm, not loving. Guess they're not people, either. Guess your silly definitions determine that.

They would still be born from a loving mother.. Also if I found out I was a robot right now I wouldn't call myself a human.

Lab. Don't see why it makes a huge difference. If it can think for itself and make its own decisions and has emotions, it shouldn't really matter where in comes from. Gen 3s meet all of those requirements, and as far as most of the commonwealth is concerned nobody ever knows the difference unless specifically stated. As long as they can break free from any controlling programming they might have, like the corsairs, they could be integrated into society and live as independent indiduals. They might not grow old per day but they do have a lifespan given their biological components. The only difference from them and humans would be how they came into the world.
