Agreed, but despite this destinyesportsleague.com had managed to create several viable esport events in various formats in PvP and PvE for both teams and individuals. Due to slow uptake and lack of exposure plus waning interest in the game a year on the project has gone into hibernation until the next destiny release at this stage. Custom games aren't completely out of the question for destiny in the future as the game evolves over the next 5 years of commisioned rollouts promised by bungie for this unique and innovative game. Feedback from fans has direct outcomes in the gameworld on a week to week basis so if you want to see competitive gaming come to destiny... Speak up to the devs via the forums. Im sure you have and we hope you continue to do so. DESL requires voluteers with particular skill sets to run efficiently with custom functionality such as matchmaking and API calls for automatic score and results updates, prize money games with streamline unassisted buy ins and payouts. Most of these things are in place but are at development stage or complete but not tuned properly and with lack of staff services have been wound back. Im not sure what your getting at? Are you offering services or just pointing out things we've already encountered and problem solved. Functional development is time consuming and costly and most skilled devs wont work for free... Any help from those who are passionate and skilled is welcomed and equity in the project on offer to those individuals who can make it self sufficient or even profitable.

By the way the current skeleton team are international with the majority of devs/contributers in the USA. We have a very very casual PHP dev, a SEO professional, project manager and couple of contributers. We lost several key devs earlier this year which slowed then pretty much crippled further development.

We have a relationship with redbull already after being approached to help with their collegiate destiny tournament for USA college students. Yep it sure could, but unfortunately requests to speak with decisions makers at bungie to work with them and build on this have fell on deaf ears for now. They are acutely awate of us and may be keeping us at arms length because they wish to develop something similar in house. The game has been locked down to prevent competitive play and outside enterprises on purpose. This only spurred us on to find creative solutions around these restrictions. We hope that one day we can work hand in hand with Bungie and provide a sanctioned solution for esport playing Destiny. Bungie, if your out there and listening we'd love to hear from you!
