I don't have a video, but I've seen people get the ship and not the spindle(because they already had it). I've completed the quest like 15 times and it hasn't dropped yet. I'm starting to think its like the nightfall, where you can only complete it once per character per it showing up, to get rewards. Because technically the daily is completed, and so there's nothing to get. Like how you only get marks the first time.

Correct, another good point. Its confusing because you can run it on same day on all 3 characters and get spindle, but technically should only get rewards once. So how does this then apply to the ship? Or does it? So unclear.

It's definitely vague. I didn't really get a chance to put my theory into action, since it only came to me on my 5 completion of the day, and with only an hour left. Being frustrated, I gave up. But waiting for it to show up as the daily again, will give me time to level up my Titan, so I can give it three shots, if need be... I really think it's this and a really low RNG.
