I believe you have to stop back at the Tower to start the patrol quest.
Not sure though, it's been two months since it released, can't remember it all too well.

Already tried that a few times, never worked. I feel like it happened because i got babooned as i was accepting the quest part from cayde

Go to the abandoned quest kiosk and look for dread patrol.
