They drop in standard pvp quite often. I'm personally fine with the current system.

They actually no longer drop in standard pvp since the taken king update. Only dropping in Trials of Osiris...thats half the problem. If they still dropped in regular cruciable, I think it would be fine accumulating them for the weekend.
