You should stop playing with immature guardians. You could take any gun and make something up and say it's racist. Even black people call each other the n word but for some reason that's acceptable... If you don't want people to use the n word, quit using it yourself. Oh and btw, good job spreading this to the entire community. Even the people who never thought about that connection on the gun name will probably call it that now. You could have private messaged bungie directly but you wanted the publicity stunt.

I was taught that if I saw racism/bullying in my community, to stand up agaisnt it, and bring it to light... And not to just let it slide. That's what I did. This is where bungie literally asks for feedback, and most posts don't even have a single response. Stop bullying me for standing up agaisnt racism.

  • If you re-read my post I would hope that you would find that I was not bullying. You state that you were taught to stand up against racism but I believe that you were taught wrong. Bungie can't change the thought process of every person playing their game. You would have been better off posting the player names and getting them disciplined by Bungie. Can you answer just one question... Why do black people call each other the n-word if it offends them? If black people would just make it socially unacceptable within their race to say the n-word then it would become less prevalent in society. If you want to change the world then you need to start with yourself.

If you read the forum guidelines, you are not allowed to post specific player names upon negative experience, even if you have a video, as it's considered to be a kind of slander. You are supposed to report issues that exist without names here in the forums, or your post gets deleted and you get a warning. As for black people using the N word, understanding that only requires a basic level of empathy. Since you don't seem to possess that, i'm going to give you an example that takes race out of the equation. Note: it's not a perfect metaphore, but it does prove the point. Example: imagine you weigh 350 pounds, and your entire life You've been overweight due to genetics, despite all efforts to lose the weight. All your life, people have called you things like "fatass", "fatty", "tons of fun" etc. Once you wrap your mind around that idea... There are 2 scenarios. Scenario 1. You are walking down the street, and you hear "hey fats, do you have the time?" and you look up and see a 120 pound, 6 foot tall man had asked you the question. Imidiately you are flooded with the bad memories of your past where people have beaten you down with verbal insults, including "fats" for your weight. Scenario 2. You are walking down the street, and you hear "hey fats, do you have the time?" and you look up and see a 350 pound, 5 foot 6 male had posed the question. Imidiately you know you share a connection with this person. They too have had to have been tormented in our society for being different in the same way. The term "fats" is taken as a term of endearment, for a fellow person who has gone through the same struggle, and is attempting to take the hurt out of those words. In scenario 1, maybe they skinny guy has large friends, and meant no harm... Because his large friends use it as a term of endearment and he has earned the right among them to use it because they know on a core level that he means no harm. But a stranger holds no such knowledge. This is why it's OK for black people to use the n-word amongst themselves to take power away from the word, but why it's not OK for other races to use it, because they have been beaten down with that word their entire lives by that word by other races. If a black person says it to another black person there is an assumption that both have had it used agaisnt them and both want the words negative power to be less negative. Any other race using it, that assumption is not there.

  • And that response is exactly what is wrong with your thought process. Were you a slave in your lifetime? Did you grow up when African Americans were fighting for their civil rights? I highly doubt you are old enough to have experienced the trauma that they went through to get equal rights. Now you are going to sit here and tell me that it is for empathy???? Empathy for what??? You were born in a nice home, went to a non-segregated school, and possibly received a college education. There isn't any reason for empathy anymore. The empathy is only deserved by those that were born many generations ago. Why don't you show your ancestors some respect and do away with the word that caused them so much pain. The n-word is just another fad. Black people think it's cool to say it. Sadly I think it's from pure ignorance that they don't even know how the word was derived. If black people stopped using the n-word, others would shortly follow until the word was no longer used.

  • This post is great. Couldn't agree more. If you don't support the word then stop using it.

  • That's idiotic. There is a difference in using a word in a discussion about the word, and using it for it's use. That's like saying "If the people against guns would just stop talking about guns, it would make gun violence go away." Sticking your head in the sand and pretending a problem doesn't exist, is far from the best way to handle a problem.
