I don't understand why people don't get that weapon balance primarily comes from PVP.
I'm not saying that balancing for PVP should affect PVE balance. I agree it shouldn't. However when you have real people on either side of the weapon they are both going to be vocal.
In PVE I don't think the Fallen or the Hive are going to have a say about how OP shotguns are. So all Bungie has to go on is feedback from our side along side their data on what people are using and how. That actually makes it much harder to do.

No it doesnt make it harder to do. there has been plenty of ways sugguested to take and fix the imbalance BS. and the -blam!-ed up nerfs on pve side because of pvp. But does bungie listen to things thats going to do good for their game? -blam!- no. they listen to whining pvp crucibabies. ALWAYS. heres one of the many ideas ive sugguested to fix imbalance. One being a player debuff on maps. whenever you enter a pvp zone you're blessed/cursed with the area of effect buff/debuff Weapons do less damage to guardians by x% supers do less damage to guardians by x% Same with if your team is lacking player. say its 6v5 players with 5 members get a buff that increases A. Hp and shields. or B. Do extra damage to guardians. That way if you're losing because of unfair numbers. you have a chance to catch up. instead of wasting time. make it so any item gained via other means besides pvp vendors. do significantly less damage to guardians. (aka all pve weapons from raids, and pve vendors dont constantly get nerfed, and they can do their balancing to the pvp weapons. from the 3 pvp factions. iron banner. and trials weapons) instead of messing up the pve side of things. Have they listened to good input like this? NO.
