Yep. That's the intended way. In fact I didn't even notice they had bounty exp count towards the Deathless bounty in TTK. It's not the easiest of bounties, they should up the xp gains to 5000xp/100rep.
How to get 10k xp? Run some strikes would be my best bet. Do lower level activities. Avoid running for this bounty alone, but instead complete it alongside others. Just don't die ;)

That's way too much hassle. And no, this was not the way it was prior to TTK. This bounty is meant to be a replacement for Eris' bounty for completing 5 bounties in a day.

Edited by kryo: 11/21/2015 6:00:06 PMThe 10k exp bounty did exist before TTK, and it didn't count the xp you get from returning bounties towards the 10k. I'm 100% certain of this since I've completed that bounty many times. Usually got it in 2-3 strikes, if they've dropped the exp gains for majors and bosses etc, it'll take longer of course. I haven't actually done it in TTK yet, I think, at least haven't noticed. And in fact before TTK the 10k bounty would give you double the rep and marks compared to other bounties.

Yeah, you are talking about the 9k without dying bounty in Y1, which was different. You could run the Daily Heroic for 7500XP on each of 3 characters back then, but you can't do that any more. Daily Heroics only give 2500XP and can only be run once per account. The Deathless bounty has more in common with Eris' 5 bounties in a day bounty from Y1.

? More like 2-3.you get xp from killing enemies too. Whenever I did a strike I would put a sizeable dent in that bounty. Like 3-5k so I could finish it in two strikes
