Still makes no sense what so ever. Every smash character is suppose to be in nintendo games, this is the only character to ever be in a smash brothers game that doesnt have a separate nintendo game. I also wish we could have finally gotten characters with weapons other than swords and guns, like how about a spear, or axe, or something.

Final fantasy has been associated with Nintendo for a while. And the characters don't have to be Nintendo. They even said so when people voted for ryu from street fighter

Also them saying it doesnt have to be nintendo just means that it can be a third party character (not directly a nintendo character, mario is nintendo, while sonic is sega, however sonic does have nintendo games). They have always said in the past that only characters who have a game on a nintendo console will be in smash brothers, because smash brothers is the nintendo world battle royal.

He's been in final fantasy theatrum (however you spell that) and will also be in final fantasy explorers, both are 3DS games

Edited by Nickel7Dime: 11/17/2015 7:35:32 PMFirst off theatrum is not clouds game, it is a spin off game, every character in smash brothers is either in their own game (if they are a hero) or is one of the main villains. Second if the game that cloud is meant to be in is still not out, then he still should not be in the game yet, he should only be up for consideration once he actually has a game. Also explorers falls into the same boat as theatrum where once again it is not clouds game, it is an every characters spin off game.

Regardless he is in it. Pokemon isn't greninja's game.

But he is one of the three main starters, so he is one of the limited choice of what would be the heroes partner (just like charzard). Although i preferred pokemon trainer. The other characters that make no sense for pokemon are jiggly puff (worked its way indue to its popularity in the show, and so it has been in every smash brothers and is mow considered a smash brothers classic), and lucario (no idea how this one works, it is neither a legendary, unlike mew two, or a starter, it was just a sub character in a movie and so it somehow gained popularity).

Lucario gained popularity because he looks bad ass and is a very strong Pokemon

Actually he is a fairly weak pokemon, he has a fair number of weaknesses including himself, and he isnt that strong, for one he only has two evolutions which tend to make for a weaker pokemon if it is not considered to at least be a demi legendary. He looks cool and makes appearances in the anime, which is the only reason he snuck in smash brothers, technically by the same logic absol should also be a smash brother character, but instead it is in a pokeball where it belongs as a sub character that is kind of cool.
