I don't understand the shortage I used thousands for vendor rank still have over 1000

It's because you only upgrade a few choice weapons. A lot of people like myself upgrade EVERYTHING!! That's why we are running out. Many people also used them to rep up pre taken king not realizing that they would be needed and relevant again. Bungie screws people over every doc with drastic changes to the economy. They are thoughtless and shortsighted. It just wastes players time. Plain and simple. Lazy.

I'm with u I used about 10,000 leveling dead orbit and I still have 2000+ with 3 310+ characters

Year 1 players ran out from weapon reforging.

I started day one I had 10,000 weapon parts at the start of year two lol

You probably didn't infuse very much then.

No. The people with a lot of parts left actually played the game. We don't have a gambling problem like the HoW scrubs.

I'm a day one player, I never bothered reforging during house of wolves. I have no weapon parts as the vast majority of engrams I find are armor. I don't know how people are flush with weapon parts. I have been infusing new weapons but I've never in my entire time playing destiny had more than 200 weapon parts at any time. I just don't get them.

For some reason it seems selective on who it affects. For me I play all the time (except these last few days, longest I've gone since launch just not home) I'll get a lot of weapon engrams. Most just turn to motes meaning hours of strikes ran only for parts netting zero parts. This happens frequently for me.
