Leaving to America

A bit worried about getting on a plane this Saturday. My wife had several dreams of the plane crashing and I've been feeling uneasy about it.

  • I turned out that all the six planes we flew to and back turned out fine. No problems despite all the IS activity with Paris. We actually were at the airport the timed it happened (albeit on Japan.)

  • When I first got together with my ex we both had a terrible feeling of dread towards her flight to Italy... The plane was delayed by 3 hours.

  • There's been a lot of plane crashes in the last few years....loads in fact, let's not sugarcoat it. I've never been on a plane and I never will. If something goes wrong 30,000ft in the air you're pretty much -blam!-ed and to know that your going to die is one thing, surviving the absolute horror and watching all the passengers scream for their lives until the moment of impact in a firey violent explosion isn't exactly my cup of tea.

  • To be completely honest, I'd recommend not going. There's a strange accuracy to this dream pseudo-science stuff. One time my mom had a nightmare a tree fell on top of her and the next morning a tree had fallen and crushed my dads brand new car. We've all felt like we dreamt something the night before we did it... I know I have. There's been so many times where I'm doing something and suddenly I'm like, "Hey I had a dream about this a week ago!" And I guess what's gonna happen next. There's been times where I guessed accurately an entire conversation when I "remembered it" from a dream. Frankly I've freaked out a few people. I feel like this wouldn't be a risk worth taking. Don't wanna see you die man. Even if it's ridiculous and nothing happens... I know I wouldn't get on that plane. Not for anything.

I'd feel better of you just stayed home. I understand that you'd be missing a wedding (never been to one myself), but I'd trust your instincts. You might be over thinking, but what if you're not? You have kids. When I feel something is off and I don't avoid that thing, I ALWAYS end up regretting that decision. If you do fly, I hope you're safe. BE SAFE

    • You have a better chance of your car crashing than your aeroplane.

      • If you learn how to master teleportation, you'll never have to risk crashing, only getting stuck in another dimension, but, hey! on the bright side, it'll make an interesting conversation at the dinner table.
I hope the trip is smooth!
• When it comes to something like that I always trust my instincts. I've had feelings like this quite a few times and something bad has always happened.

      • Well, think of it this way. You'll be flying over The Bering strait, into Alaska, and down into the U.S. So the airspace will be like this: Japan, International, U.S, Canada, U.S. All friendly airspace.

I'd skip plane day this year, if I were you.

        • I always trust my intuitions on things like. Maybe change day your flying and see if your feel better or the dreams stop. Remember in 1983 the Russians shot down a Korean airliner.

            • If you're worried about your plane, you could technically try a boat. It might be safer considering these recurring dreams and feelings of dread
