Man, people on these forums are so paranoid....
This move was to solely expand Acitivion's portfolio into mobile games, which is a big growing market, it had nothing to do with bringing them in to change their console games. If anything the merger is happening for Activision to influence King Games to expand their player base beyond the casual gamer. The likelihood of this effecting Destiny is so slim.

Mobile games are microtransaction heaven. Destiny is trying to adopt that model. How can you not see the acquisition of King the damn kings of microtransactions as a destiny problem?

Edited by Darth CPA: 11/5/2015 5:56:30 PMThey are bringing them in to expand their portfolio and market share in mobile games. Most likely they will be operating as nothing other than a subsidiary to Activision, as in a separate company just owned by Activision and appears on the same financial statements. They will have 0 influence over Activision's other business lines. Activision and Bungie are smart enough to know that mobile gamers and console gamers are two different types of people and know better than to let Destiny become Candy Crush. If anything you will see a Destiny themed Candy Crush game, before you see the type of micro-transactions seen in Candy Crush come to Destiny.
