I don't think Taox has spent all of these millenia hiding just to confront Oryx openly in a battle she can't win.
Also, I believe Rasputin prevented the Traveler from leaving. The Traveler didn't sacrifice itself for us.

I don't agree, in the calcified fragment lores they talk about other travelers, and no mention of them running.

Negative. In book of sorrows XIX, the traveler flees the ammonites after the leviathan is defeated. Where is there mention of many travelers?

That must have been my mistake, thinking they killed one, + the one humanity found on mars. Just double checked. In "forever and a blade", Orxy muses about [i]the[/i] traveler that he hunts. Good on you for the correction.
