First, fire the upper management. Out of that 500 million dollars or so budget they made a dlc, which they called "Destiny". Then they broke that down into three patches they called the Dark Below, House of Wolves, and the Taken King. Clearly someone is pocketing 80% of that into their pockets. Worst part is probably 50% of Destiny 2 is cut content from 1. So to make Destiny 2 successful, besides making it an actual mmofps, I say make it a prequel. To the time when the humanity was being pushed to near extinction. And actually make it an open world with real adventures to experience.

I usually hate the idea of prequels because I want stories to progress, but Destiny barely has a story anayway, and the really interesting stuff is in the lore and backstory. A prequel would allow us to do things like fighting the Ahamkara (giant dragons that grant wishes that the Vanguard ordered the extermination of), and engage in that war where the Fallen houses were all united against the city. We could also meet characters like Toland and Osiris before their exiles. Even if it's not a prequel, vex time travel could be used to help us explore the past.
