The void kills only count from ability kills not weapon element kills
The elements are a rare item that randomly drop when you open relic iron nodes not chests
You just have to keep grinding them you could get lucky and get them quite quickly or it can be a grind

Abilities kills have to kill more than 3 each time to count. As for relic iron part of the quest it's a rare drop from collecting nodes. Expect to get one in every 10-15 nodes.
