Have you completed the mission 'Dread Patrol'? You need to complete that mission to acces the dreadnaught for patrol.

I don't have that quest and neither can I click the dreadnought to view quests available there when in the map of planets screen as it's not there yet...?

Have you completed the mission Regicide where you kill oryx? After that mission it should unlock a quest from Cayde I believe that requires you to put down patrol beacons on the ship.

No, I haven't got access to the story... Can't complete TTK missions...
