Do melees while force barrier is active count? Go to the beggining of the nexus mind strike where the fallen and vex are fighting.
I'd also just turn your str and dis up
All those enemies there should help even if FB kills don't count

Only when force barrier is fully charged. Not just when the over sheild is on. But from the advice of others, Monte Carlo has helped a lot with the chance to fully recharge my melee.
