Feminism=egalitarianism.
One is not superior. Feminism is given its name denoting females specifically because it's quite evident considering the history of the human race that females have not been treated equal.
Egalitarianism is equality on all fronts, feminism is concerned with equality between the genders.
I would say that any feminist is holding egalitarian ideals, and any egalitarian is holding feminist ideals.
I would also say, the peanut-sized-brain misandrists parading their misandry as feminism are idiots, and only gain so much attention because of a patriarchal ideology that has become ingrained within society.
Why does the whole world go up in flames when someone mentions feminism? Why are misandrists who obviously are not advocating equality considered feminists? Why are these unjustifiable considerations considered valid? Why does this validation then become a justification for being against "feminism?"

Playing favourites in regards to equality never made sense to me.

Never said that I'm not a feminist, just that I'd prefer to be referred to as an egalitarian. I don't like the word feminist (I'm guessing you'll probably get your panties in a bunch over me saying that, but removing connotations of gender from the word itself and making it more broad is just more attractive). There's also equalist, but egalitarian really just suits everything the best while staying neutral to both sides.

And I never said anything about you in my statement, so don't you worry, panties are still riding just fine.
-
Okay, well then good.
-
You feel my pain. This is why I will never say I am not a feminist.

It just kind of annoys me how we have a predominantly male community here, who all consider the word feminism to be the most offensive thing they've ever heard of, and feel the need to argue against it on the basis of people who aren't feminists aren't arguing for equality. It's like, smack-my-head-with-a-brick stupid.
-
It's not the most offensive word, there's like three or four ones that are worse.

What's even worse is that their ideals spread. It's becoming cool to trash feminists. It's definatly not cool to trash them, and it's definitely not cool to try and justify it by saying, "but I want equality!" After the fact. They never seem to see the whole, "I don't want gender equality but I want everyone to be equal," It makes no sense to me. I understand it's semantics in the end, but damn it I wilĺ be bugged by it.

It is in fact cool to trash feminism
