Well yeah but it would be a legendary that you can infuse so that wouldn't be a problem like we need light for them like nothing else so it doesn't -blam!- with the game like people are trippin if this is pay to win type of shit

Just make it where on the equip screen you can "inspect" yourself. It would actually open a 2nd version of the screen with only the armor slots. You could equip anything there as long as it didn't overwrite an exotic (trying to balance) and as long as it isn't exotic. It would have a "no item" space like shaders, since it would remove the item from the inventory as long as it's on.

I understand, but to bypass the whole light thing a vanity slot right beside the helmet is perfect, like the game Terraria, you can wear the end game armour, and equip a vanity at the same time to change the appearance. Same thing should be done for Destiny so we can have diversity, everyone can still wear the highest gear and look different at the same time without the need for things like the skull mask to have light and be considered a "pay to win " item.
