I agree but this is an easy fix. Dont let the same item drop twise when you already have them..

If you remember the taken King information given pre release they said that it would be the case RNG would take account of what already dropped for you. Sadly in a lot of cases this has turned out not to be wrong. Are you surprised really? It is bungie after all.

I remember it being said yes. have I seen it in action? No I've had more drops that are all exactly the same than I care to count. But I dont care about that its the typical loot system within destiny. Ive grown a custom to the loot system. Whats bothering me is Paying real money! Not ingame currency that can be made back over the weekend. When I pay actual money for something I want to get what I payed for you know? Ive been scammed. Its so depressing when I love the game and I put money into it to get nothing back.
