Edited by Alonfé: 10/27/2015 11:10:12 PMYou see the enemy approach in the distance, a scout breaks from the forest bearing news: the enemy force is of much cavalry, 60 in number; they also have 30 fighters, and 10 archers. They seem to be at a disadvantage for distance attacks, but they are well armed. They fighters wield hammers, deadly against your heavy infantry. The scout says to strategize wisely; placement is everything. He also saw a dark cloud rolling in, but it seems to be alive... he has a bad feeling about this. He suggests caution in your decisions; placing is everything, and be wary of the cloud. It could bring luck or misfortune. You nod, looking to the approaching army. Only 10% of your men and theirs are visible, the rest still breaking the horizon. The time for tactics is now.

The groups falls into standard phalanx formation ( 4 deep 15 wide, the extra ten remain in the back to fill fallen soldiers, archers [and mages now] watch left and right sides divided 7 and 8 on each side) They advance slowly on the field.

The slow gain is easily outpaced by the enemy, their superior mobility on horseback bringing them near. Their weapon's and armour gleen in the afternoon sun as they gallop towards the line. The archers aren't visible yet, but the fighters are seen farther behind the cavalry, keeping pace but not too fast, as to save energy. The cavalry are still quite a ways off; you have one more turn to plan.

Edited by Stratos: 10/28/2015 11:25:29 PMThe men lower their spears and prepare for the mounted men. The rear rows raise their shields above to guard against arrows. Archers and mages prepare to fire once the crowd grows closer to scatter the approaching line. Edited by Alonfé: 10/28/2015 11:31:27 PMThe cavalry thunder in, coming in too fast for mages to hit them; some arrows hit their mark, felling one or two. The cavalry sweep the shield wall at the front, not aiming for the men, but at their weapons, attempting to knock them away. What you didn't notice before was that few cavalry men had archers on their horse as well, firing at the wall as they passed, retreating back. They continue the sweeps, losing few men, claiming few as well. The battle seemed even, as this repeated, your forces moving forward steadily as instructed. Damage Enemy: -10 Cavalry You: -5 Heavy

Edited by Stratos: 10/29/2015 12:40:25 AMThe mages use their fire times to corral the horsemen, and the advance slows. Archers fire at the horses. Spearmen continue to target the horsemen
