Humans are inherently lazy creatures. If they can take advantage they will. That's been proven by our political agendas here in the states and by a lead party member who might become the next president. If you want to tax someone who works hard that's all good and dandy but the top 1 percent can't pay for the other 99. Why would someone continue to work hard if others were piggy backing off of you? Would you work hard? Or would you just say screw it and do what everyone else is doing? Taxes become a real issue when everyone is shouting just tax everyone the same flat rate, but that leads to an even bigger problem within the system itself. Cut spending on military and stop policing the world and acting as a good cop when it's really just all about control, power, and wealth. Those with more money have more power. It is estimated that the United States spends more in military agendas than the top 25 other high powered countries combined and the kicker is 23 of them our the United States allies. Why is it we spend billions abroad but not within our own nation. I digress. Taxes look good with on paper but they're a pain to actually work with.

  • Of course they are a pain, and if you don't address loopholes, and tax havens raising rates only -blam!-s those who arent exploiting the system. The focus needs to be on effective rates along side the statutory rates. Also, unless we want to continue the debt and running a defecit each year, taxes revenue has to increase. We literally cannot cut to the level of current tax income without severly reducing military spending and we all know that's going to go over like a beer at a eulogy.

  • I agree with you. Finding a solution to the deficit will take time but it will also take a strong arm to pull it off. Cutting spending will only help with we get rates back in line where they need to be.

Agreed. Too low is just as bad as too high when it comes to taxes. Gotta find that sweet spot.
