I don't mind the timegates, I really don't. Like you the surprise is cool. Yesterday, I land at the tower, and to my my surprise, FWC has something for me, it brings a level of excitement to the game. My problem however, is the lack of transparency. People wracked their brains for weeks over the SS, theories were out all over the internet, Spin foil hat sales were at an all time high, and this community was hard at work with their theories on where the gun was hidden. Bungie even released clues on the internet to make people think the SS was out there, still waiting to be found. And then one day, boom, quest available so long as you had found the little broken fusion rifles up to this point. What everybody believed was a well hidden gun, turned out to be nothing more than a time gated exotic. If they want it time gated, fine, it really doesn't bother me. But be transparent. Let people know what's not avaiavle yet, and don't troll people by leading them on.
