I forgot what the series was but I loved the one with "New Types" or something like that and Char. Played a lot of video games of that one too

New types are the term for the space adapted human race, it's predominantly from the universal century time line. Both char aznable and amuro ray are the first ever confirmed new types as of UC 0079. If you havnt watch any of the universal century anime I extremely recommend it. Just bare with the outdated conversation and animation. It did come out in 1979. But the story is well worth it.

Ya that's the one, I remember it being really old. Either that or gundam wing was the first one I saw
