encounter 1: you spawn in the location you spawn in mercury patrol, but instead of going to the spot that all the patrol areas are, you turn around and follow a jumping puzzle to a very dark room in a colossal pyramid like building. after your entire fireteam enters the room, the door behind you closes, inside the room, it is like the dark blade strike boss room, but much darker. you can't even see 1 foot in front of you. the only way to tell your surroundings is to bring out your ghost and let it survey the surroundings. anyways, this is how the checkpoint plays out: vex harpies start spawning in the corners of the rooms, very rapidly. it is easiest to take them out with fast fire weapons or explosive weapons. they will stat dealing massive amounts of damage. they are called time keepers. they have arc machine guns that wind up a little before shooting at rapid fire speed, similar to the nechrocasm. the arc shots explode in an arc explosion and release a glowing arc flame that standing in stops your health regen. in hard and expert mode it deals damage. the flame doesn't glow except in normal mode, and even in normal mode it doesn't glow bright. the time keepers will keep coming until you use the flames they shoot to light up an artificially, burnt out torch on the wall. the flames disappear quicker than normal when in this torch, but eventually the torch will be bright enough to light up the entire room. then, after killing the remaining time keepers, a large vex teleports in. it is the first boss, and is called "The Keeper of the Church". the fight plays out as so: the boss looks like a slightly bigger minotaur (by about 1 foot) with hobgoblin ears, additional plating on his chest, and a single hydra eye. he has a small personal shield similar to a hydra, but void. getting near him slows you and deals damage to you, but after the initial damage no more damage is taken. the slowing effect increases in strength exponentially the closer you are to him. shooting his hydra eye deals no additional damage but reduces the size of his shield. shooting his shield increases the size of his shield. shooting him anywhere but his chest and eye cause him to teleport somewhere else. shooting him in his chest does no damage. 1st phase: he acts like a normal minotaur with a hobgoblin sniper. after taking away about 1/8 of his health, he activates a second personal shield, this one is solar. after taking down another 1/8 of his health, he activates his third and final shield, which is arc. at this point, he has 3 shields around him that completely cover him. the only thing exposed is his head, and additionally, turrets pop out of the walls that target anything that jumps into the area, including other enemies. 2nd phase: you can't damage the boss, but adds starts spawning. occasionally, something called a vex priest will spawn in. they are yellow bar hobgoblins with fancy glass decorating on their armor with glass spikes and necklaces. the use a charge up gun that after charging releases a burst of a certain element. it is an 12 round burst fired in rapid succession. killing one of these priests while they are shooting will cause them to drop an element crystal of their element (an infinite amount spawn with a random element each time). To take down the bosses shield, you have to run up to him and "drain" the energy from his shield with the active crystal. this will stagger him, knock you back, refill your teams health (only yours in hardmode, no ones in expert mode), and deactive all vex priests of that element (E.I. no more will spawn, the ones that are spawned will start to jitter and eventually crumble to the ground). there is then a hole in his defenses. after dealing 15% damage to his health, he will close the gap of the shields will his two remaining shields. His chest is still impenetrable, so the only parts you can shoot are his head and eye. you continue this two more times, each time reducing him by 15% health. 3rd phase: all three of his shields are deactivated, and he decides to go into a damage phase. he opens his chest, revealing a crystal that when shot deals huge damage, but also he will drain power from a random guardian, removing their over shield, then he will start rapid firing his sniper which now deals the same elemental damage as the guardian he just took from. but each element does a different thing: solar causes a burning effect to targets arc causes him to fire faster and more accurately void causes his shots to explode, leaving goopy residue and damaging ANYTHING that steps in it. including him. basically, bring him down to zero health when he is doing this, and there you go! boss 1 killed. a door opens up leading deeper into the vex citadel/ church \.

rewards are dropped. possible rewards: fusion rifle, sniper rifle. materials. exploration part: when you enter the church, you have to search around a bit inside the pyramid (a lot actually) to find a vex teleportation gate that will send you the raid location. it is a giant multi level, huge maze and the close you get the bigger it gets. the path changes though, so videos won't help you find the way. there is a way to find your way through however: red lights will shine in the places you should go to. blue lights in ones you shouldn't. in expert mode though, the lights are removed. it is a guessing game. once one person finds the location, they can teleport the rest of the fireteam to the gate with them. to activate the gate, you have to move an activator relic (a small cube made up of smaller glass cubes, made up of smaller glass cubes. about the size of the ball in the oryx raid. all 81 of the little cubes constantly shift and turn while the cube itself floats their in your hands. you can throw grenades when holding the relic, do an uncharged sword melee with it, and that is it.) picking up the cube releases a single wave of time keeper harpies, easy to remove of. you place the activator cube on a pedestal to the right of the gate, and the little cubes fly off in front of the gate, leaving only a blob of arc energy where the relic was. the cubes start glowing, and eventually spin rapidly, activating the gate. they then return to the blob of arc energy. rewards are not given. there are two chests in the maze. random locations. normally near the top or underneath a rooms floor. the contain a chance for normal legendary gear and raid materials. entering the gate puts you into the location the raid will take place.

after entering the portal you are in a large vex room, with a blur in the middle of the room. it occasional has static around it, and a large being flashes in it's location. to start the next part of the raid, your entire team of 6 has to shoot at the blur. it then reveals to be "Kronos, Vex Overlord" this boss fight then ensues: "Kronos, demonstrating his power, splits the area floor into platform segments. then, any segment a player isn't standing on he will cause to blur out of time. falling of an active platform will drop you into a pit of lava. (in expert mode, all the platforms disappear when he does it the first time. you have to jump and stay in the air as long as you can.) Kronos looks very unique. bigger than a gatelord (taller by about 2 meters, wider by 1 meter). he appears to be made out of mirrors, not glass like Atheon, but just mirrors, constantly shifting and moving, bending and folding. he also occasionally jitters out and back in time for a millisecond. the fight: Kronos has two features in this encounter: one, he can erase any platform at any moment, and when he reaches 3/4 health he can make all the platforms disappear at once for about 3 seconds. after he does this though, he is exhausted and very vulnerable to attack. his second ability: he will activate something called "Kronos gazes into the time line". he will try to erase 3 members from existence, killing them until a wipe or the rest of the checkpoint. the only way for these three to survive is to get within titan melee distance of another member of the fireteam that isn't getting erased. in hard mode, 4 people get erased, and 1 person can only link with two people. in expert mode, all 6 members will be erased, and the only way to survive is to link up with Kronos himself until the "time shift" is done. he uses these two abilities fairly often in the fight, and after you get him to half health, the screen reads: "Kronos flees to recuperate his strength" (in expert mode you have to get him to 40% health) when he enrages he constantly has his gaze active, effecting all members even in normal mode, and the platforms constantly shift and tear apart. they do not repair in hard mode when he is enraged, and don't repair at all in expert mode. but in expert mode, he occasionally recreates some platforms in exchange for 5% of his health back. 4 platforms = 5% of health back. the field is a square with 36 platforms meters wide. causing Kronos to flee drops rewards: machine gun and sniper and mats

  • goblins and vex priests hobgoblins start spawning in the arena rapidly. to survive, you have to kill of a certain number of them to open a door to the next area. when it opens, more goblins and harpies start flooding out. enemies will literally be so thick you can (and should) jump on their heads from one to another. you just have to run in and try to dodge gun fire while running down what seems like a never ending hallway. eventually you get to the end, where goblins and harpies just continuously spawn out of the hall way, you have to find an activator relic nearby, take it off the pedestal, and close the door to continue in the raid. how to get the activator: you have to do a mainly vertical jump puzzle going up, but additionally, some blocks will be to far away to jump to, so you have to find crooks and crannies in the walls to progress. sometimes it will feel like you are glitching when you slide under a part of a wall to get to a place you can jump from. really interesting and well hidden stuff. you'll spend most of the time jumping from one wall to another just to use a sword or blade dance to push through a small vex barrier guarding a room inside of a wall. you eventually find the activator at the top of the room, ad you just have to take it off and the door closes. you also have an activator now that will be used in the next boss fight.
