I liked the 11 rounds thing. I never thought to connect the two, but now it makes much more sense.
Can we, with confidence, call the Touch of Malice a Weapon of Sorrow? Or should those be reserved to corrupted Guardian weapons?

I think a Weapon of Sorrow is defined as a man made weapon being incorporated with Hive Magic. I think it isn't on the technicality that it was assembled as a Hive weapon as opposed to being changed into one.

It hasn't always been clear to me what [i]could[/i] be classified as a Weapon of Sorrow, I suppose, but I take your point.
