I like the idea but it will not work in Destiny for one reason and one reason alone - currency caps. Essentially all you would have to do is wager 200 marks, or 25000 glimmer and you get it. So it would no longer be an auction, just a first to bid max gets it.

True, but all one would have to do is add in any/all consumables we all seem to hoard. Hold on, think about it...25000 glimmer, 200 legendary marks, X amt black wax idols/ether seeds/beads/keys, Strange coins, and MoL...let's make people go "broke" to get that one weapon that want. [spoiler]To be serious though, the concept of trading/ah is great on paper, but we all know it would destroy the game as we know it should it ever be implimented.[/spoiler]
