U could use them to buy vanguard or crucible marks and this would also give u a small amount of XP/rep. But they replaced it with the ability to buy materials with marks. If they would leave both u could easily cheese some rep

So you would use all your marks to buy mats? Then how would you upgrade your gear? I don't see it making that big of an impact. The economy of this game is nothing but trying to balance what you have. "I have 90 strange coins, I'm low on 3oC but I really could use that helmet engram..." You as the player have to decide how you want to spend the different currency types the game offers. If you really wanted to blow your marks to buy mats to get faction rep I don't see how that would break anything. It already happens everyday anyway.

I've played for forever. Doesn't mean I've read every forum post. It's not so much about having a ton of mats. More the fact that faction rep is difficult to come by nowadays. I don't see what would be so game breaking about faster faction leveling though.

Yeah u get 100 rep for every 5 u trade in (*ProTip). U sir are a moron. And if you are day one or early vanilla why aren't u high enough? I'm DO rank 112 - all shader and both ships FWC rank 26 - all shaders and new ship NM rank 7 - 1 shader U r the only player to have ever complain about this dump shit. GG Scrub is soooo appropriate right now.

What's the difference between trading in the motes from the mats? You're arguing just to argue because "Internet". My bad though, I forgot you can trade in motes for faction rep, but I definitely wasn't getting 100 rep per trade. However if I'm "the only person" complaining why were you able to reference a forum post that had this same info with all the facts? I can't be the only one if that's the case. Congrats on all your ranks. Glad you got everything. I still have not. Even burned 200 strange coins to buy heavy synths to trade in. Went up 20 levels, still no shader. As I said though you are adding nothing to this conversation, but thanks for your input.

I was trying to be helpful because this is an old topic. And yes u do get 100 per 5 it's the best exchange rate from all other trade ins. Im done with this because you're just dumb.

I know what u are saying somehow I have about 1500 spirit bloom- from farming the Wolfpack chests the day it dropped and special ammo ( which I already traded in for rep) Trading in stuff got me to level 41 from 0 in dead orbit since the start of TTK until now- moving on to FWC
