Destiny disappoints me.
I'm probably going to get a lot of shit for this. These posts always do. But, I've been containing this for awhile and now, I know how to let it out.
To start, I've been a Destiny fan since launch. I cleared the VoG when it came out, I pre-ordered the DLCs, and I've played a bit of every character (although I remade my Warlock so my sister could try the game out before buying it.)
Now, after I've bought and played through TTK, I can proudly say this game is a rip-off and one big con. Every DLC we get has been a let-down or overhyped.
Starting with TDB.
It was cool for awhile, purely because we got another raid. Everyone loved it, until we got a bit of raid gear and got the strategies down. New guns, new raid. That's all we got, and it quickly flopped.
Next, HoW.
House of Wolves only gave us one decent thing. They told us they were going to "reinvent storytelling," and give us an in-depth and fun story. And then, they gave us a shit replacement for a raid, the PoE. All of these things flopped. The only decent thing that was released here was Trials, and even that could quickly become boring and repetitive due to the constant unbalance in PvP weapons.
Now, lets end with TTK — and this is the big one.
40 dollars. A new story, that was going to be "Longer than people expected!" (Quote Luke Smith) The LARGEST and BEST raid in the game that would be EXTREMELY difficult. New weapons and armor!
- The story... Well, it was disappointing. The cut scenes were cool. The plot couldve been interesting. But all in all it was lackluster. Short... Just how Bungie's always done things.
- The raid. This was a big disappointment for me. The first time I played it, I was like "oh, hell yes! This is cool! New gear! New bosses!" After that, I was burned out. I could run the raid in under an hour. It was too easy, and too boring, there was no replayability and it was hardly longer than the other raids. Sure, we got one extra boss encounter, but it wasn't hard at all.
- Finally, the exotics. Most of these turned out to be shitty legendaries in a yellow box. The ones that were barred behind difficult quests were the ones that were the most situationally useful, (ToM is a big raid weapon, otherwise it's decent, Chaperone is basically a crucible gun...) Weapons we wanted to work for that were highly anticipated (such as Sleeper Sim..) were far too easy to get. Exotic armor wasn't all too great this DLC, usually providing a mediocre perk.
This was 40 dollars of my money, down the drain. That was when I stepped back and analyzed things.
I paid 40 dollars for what I got with TDB. What I got with PoE.
TTK:
- New Raid Activity (King's Fall)
- Small and not-so-important story
- New guns + armor
HoW:
- New Raid-like Activity (PoE)
- Small and boring story
- New guns + armor
TDB
- New Raid Activity (Crota's End)
- Small and disappointing story
- New guns + armor
This wasn't worth 40 dollars. This game wasn't worth 140 dollars.
Honestly, I'm disappointed, and I'm giving up Destiny for good now. I loved this game so much but it's small and a money-hole. Even if the next year's worth of content is free, does that mean it'll be any good?

1 ReplyI was going to do a lengthy analysis on why you can't stop spewing shit onto the internet, why you hold Destiny to an unreasonably higher standard than games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Halo, all whilst questioning you on how Destiny is a piece of shit game that wasn't good enough or fun enough to get.... approximately 28.4 days (681.2 hours) [40,874.4 minutes] of entertainment out of it; although in the end, I've decided that I shouldn't waste any more time on you since, quite frankly, I'm astonished as to how you typed your entire post with an IQ of around 20. Anyways, to wrap this up with a pretty nice bow, I hope to.... no I will see you in game later (maybe when next DLC drops if not earlier) since you seemed to have been enjoying yourself with this God Awful, Disappointing, Piece Of Shit, Ugly Excuse For A Game, Waste Of Money, Worse Than ET For The Atari Game called Destiny for a little less the a month of you sitting on your ass and drooling on your controller (It's no fun right? Since you hate the game remember? ).

People like you are flat out stupid, you play the game way longer than the average person and then come to the forums to tell people why the game is bad. Get over yourself.

2 RepliesEdited by Fal Chavam: 10/11/2015 9:47:31 PMMost of what you posted is entirely opinion, I loved the new stuff, crota's probably wasn't worth 20 bucks though, but The PoE was fun, a gladiator arena style game type. as for the The TTK the story was pretty good, a very big step from where it came from, secrets you had to find and inducing the new theme of teamwork with a hard raid, hard story missions, and a hard to kill new enemy. now people may yell out re-skin but consider the fact that many games re-skin their stuff and very few people complain about them. The fact of the matter is that people can't be satisfied any more. remember how when the new stuff came out and almost everyone no-life the content out of it. which is bad for any game, but you can't make this game too hard otherwise you end up with dark souls which kinda sucks for those who don't no-life the content out of games. I just realized I posted a wall of text so basically what I'm trying to say is that this is a game that tries new things as it goes to see how player like it, if they don't like it, they move on to something else. You also gotta remember that there is like a book or two that comes with each DLC, the cards, for those who just want story, you don't like the game, well then here's a book for ya. Although I did the math for the future and if their DLC prices are consistent, $40 at the start of a new year and two more $20 DLCs. we'll end up paying 800 bucks by the end of year ten. Don't think I'll stick around for that.

Problem with destiny is there is no middle ground. A gamer can't really play once in a while with this game because you can fall behind. If you do play all the time the flaws then become magnified and can make you want to quit. Good luck finding a new game

5 RepliesI agree with your comments about TDB and HoW, but TTK was a big step in the right direction for this game. No, it may not have been a HUGE step but it was a start. And with the next year's DLC being free is it really worth it to quit at this point? Youve already put your $140 in why throw that away? Stay and at least check out whats coming in the next year.

While I find that posts about quitting are needless, I'm sure this is your way of saying "goodbye, it's been a good run". So in my deepest regards, I do wish that Destiny can win you over again, some way, some how.

I think this raid was really good. Not as tense and urgent as Crota's "shoot them!" raid, and more like the Vault of Glass' puzzle raid.

One thing i can agree the raid weapons suck so bad, they said this is the biggest raid we seen and still people done it under 35 minutes, I don't mind the quest's, but there isn't a single weapon that stands out even on PvP the best weapons are year one red death and bad juju,
