It's dumb but you can't really do anything except patrol unless you have the dlc

Ugh, I guess I'll be waiting until ttk drops way down in price before I consider investing anymore money in Destiny.

DLC doesn't drop in price. Have you seen Dark Below and House Of Wolves? Still £19.99 each.

I'm sure they'd release a compact Destiny with all the content on one disk some time in the future.

The next major content release will be destiny 2 or whatever it is called which will be next gen only. From what I've seen they MAY make a big pack for all the DLC from years one and two. But they also may not because of what is coming next.

But it's going to include previous content just as TTK did. And if you already own it, then it's a waste.
