what your describing is The Old Hunger, one of two questlines required to receive the Touch of Malice (the other being Hunger Pangs).
the questline you're asking about, which rewards you with a 310 artifact, is called The Road to King's Fall.

So once you get the Road to Kings Fall quest, you wont automatically get the artifact if you completed the raid first? If that is the case, then the raid shouldn't have even displayed that I received each of the three items during my run, just makes it more confusing in my opinion.

they're not the same quest lol. those three items are for The Old Hunger, have a 100% drop rate (if you have the quest), and is completely unrelated to The Road to King's Fall besides the raid itself. I know, I had to do The Old Hunger before I realized The Road to King's Fall gave a 310 artifact. no biggie, you beat the raid once.

I see your point, but was hoping to finish up the other parts before the weekly reset and get the artifact for that character, so I guess I'll have to wait until next week...I guess I could run the raid again on that character once I get the quest to see if they drop, but I would prefer to not run the raid just for those items without the chance of getting other loot. LOL
