This isn't Activision. Activision has no say over the decision of what are privately run forums--their watermark is nowhere to be found on this website. Their influence with Bungie begins and ends with their games. Activision has their own forums (probably) they can worry about but this is entirely Bungie's decision and to say otherwise is conspiracy theorizing with no evidence. It isn't right in my opinion, it essentially isolates this community when before it had been an open space for all people to join, but it is far from the worst thing that Bungie have done. On the other hand, trolls won't be able to come here and shit on our community without having a Destiny account so that may actually be a plus. So it really depends on if you are a glass half full/half empty kind of person. On one hand we are isolated, on the other, trolls will be fewer.

This is not a conspiracy theory I didn't make it up, Bungie are now Activision's lap dogs.
It isn't right in my opinion, it essentially isolates this community when before it had been an open space for all people to join, but it is far from the worst thing that Bungie have done.
Agreed but it's hardly the best thing they have done also.
On the other hand, trolls won't be able to come here and shit on our community without having a Destiny account so that may actually be a plus.
I do not agree with people trolling or posting in #Destiny or its topic specific sub-forums that haven't played the game, on that I agree with Activision and Bungie. But stopping people from posting in #Gaming and #Offtopic that haven't played the game seems rather spiteful by Activision and Bungie to me. The trouble is it doesn't work both ways as we both know from #Gaming, trolls with Destiny accounts are able to freely troll spam about other games and some of those previously developed by Bungie. If the Bungie Webteam want to argue the accountability excuse then it needs to work both ways.
So it really depends on if you are a glass half full/half empty kind of person. On one hand we are isolated, on the other, trolls will be fewer.
Tbh I am a glass half full man every time but if there is a real issue affecting fellow gamers then I will point it out. As I said I really feel the trolls will be just as prolific here and in #Offtopic but not in #Destiny and it's topic specific sub-forums.

 • Bungie fired Marty. Publisher advertise. E3 is huge. So of course Activison wanted it their way. Now. He felt Bungie should decide what to show off, not Activision. And I agree. They also reported that he was brining down people at the work place. We don't know the full story. So don't use that piece just because it supports your agenda.

Scapegoated for bringing down the morale of his fellow workers by Bungie who fired him as they bowed down to Activision as they no backbone.
We don't know the full story.
We know enough. I really hope you wake up before its too late. ={

 • While I am 100% on Marty's side in this, it came out in court by employees that by the end, Marty was actively sabotaging others work and being subordinate...which is awesome. I would love to hear his "Music of the Spheres" in its entirety, but sadly I think Bungie owns all that music now and we'll probably never get to hear it.

 •
Don't use that piece just because it supports your agenda.
^^That's your argument; everything else is grammatically questionable fluff. We do know that Marty wrote music for the E3 reveal, and that Activision, a company without any real creative talent, decided they could do it better. It was an insult to Marty and an imposition on Bungie's creative integrity. The same way that book publishing executives shouldn't rewrite the books that they publish, Activision shouldn't have interfered with Bungie's creation.

 • And Bungie stood up for him legally by filing a complaint. It was only when Marty got in the way of the development of the game were they forced to fire him.

 • That doesn't matter to some of these people. Yeah, if Marty had let Ryan take care of it, and not gone off half cocked, then I'd feel sorry for him. But he did it to himself, and so I cannot feel sorry for him being fired.

 • Neither party was in the right in this situation, it was just a very poorly handed and ugly problem.

 • Well yeah, not saying that both sides are guilt free. But I am tired of seeing people claim that Marty was "wrongfully fired".
