For Everyone Saying the Sleeper is Underpowered
So the community has appeared to have a fairly negative reaction to the Sleeper. I won't deny that the quest was simplistic and easy at best, but the weapon itself really shines. Lets look at some numbers:
Black Spindle, which is considered one of the best single-target damage dealers, does ~76k per shot on Golgoroth. The Sleeper does ~155k per shot. The fire rate of the Sleeper is about 2/5 that of the Spindle (excluding reload). This is the equivalent of ~69k damage per 76k damage from spindle.
What this means is that the Sleeper rivals one of the BEST SINGLE TARGET WEAPONS IN THE GAME, albiet with a single reload. However, the sleeper is a lot more versatile, as it doesn't require 3 rapid precision shots to maintain dps.
TL:DR Sleeper is a pretty damn good weapon.
Edit: For those pointing out that the Sleeper has only 7 shots, this thread is comparing dps, not total damage. Various other factors come into play at that point.

They stated they didn't want a gally scenario in year 2, meaning a have to have gun. Not sure why it was assumed this would be it. Shows up in a pre release article and people over hype it.

Its not as versatile a weapon as spindle or malice due to low ammo and lack of heavy ammo drops. But its a good alt if u dont have either

2 RepliesPeople that are complaining that it's underpowered most likely have its Attack value still at 290 or below 300. I've infused mine with an extra Raid Launcher and an extra 310 Truth. Now, it stands at 309 and I love it.

The Sleeper does not belong in the Raid. If you're not using Spindle and Malice in the Raid, you're wrong.

It just has abit of an ammo crisis. Not only that, but excluding crucible, and a "minions of darkness" perk. The ricochets should redirect toward enemies rather than going into space, or away from enemies. However I like the gun. I love it in crucible.

True, ran it on the daily, and then a few strikes, with just two of use we ripped through the crystal, Goliath tanks, fallen walkers, and taniks. Not great for solo games but great for team work.

2 RepliesSpindle is still better because special ammo is more common. You don't need to waste any time at all to reload, and having a sword in your heavy weapon slot is more viable for other parts of the raid.

The fact a heavy weapon is stuck in second place to a special weapon is a legitimate reason to hate the weapon. With extremely limited heavy ammo, why would I pick a heavy that's worse than a secondary?

3 RepliesAnother thing to point out is that you can use SS instead of spindle and that allows for another legendary sniper like LDR to come in and add even more DPS to your loadout. Cuz let's be honest, not all that many heavy weapons put out good DPS during the raid.

I deal 270k with 3 sniper shots You deal not even that with one I have 9 of those 270 and I can fire constantly Yea sure the simulant is better
