There is a 300 artifact you can get from finishing the despose the court quest, ive seen someone with 300 defence RARE gauntlets [spoiler]you cant infuse rares.[/spoiler] so maybe you just need to keep turning in engrams. Really, you need to do the raid, if you dont have a team, use the recruitment forum to find a good group.

yeah i got the quest 300s. i had a 299 rare helmet but i infused it into my exotic. but a 300 from an engram? damn. thats the luckiest s.o.b, in the world eh. the raid. ehh. everyone wants u to be higher light with specific weapons and know the thing backwards and forwards...its just off-putting. i had a couple friends invite me to it for help, once to oryx, and once to some big door with runes on the sides, but we never got far enough to get any loot, and eventually someone has to leave and then it all falls apart. id be more willing, if i had more weapons that were 297 or higher. which is why i made this post really.
