Give Destiny a little time... It seems that they're working to correct this glaring flaw and the Destiny lore is progressing rather quickly one year in. Star Wars has a ridiculous head start. I have no clue how many video games and books have been released along with the 6 movies over the the last couple decades. There was a lot there before if you took the time to read it.
