Eris represents some sort of tipping point in the game. One that I suspect has to do with the fact that I believe we are not involved in a struggle between Good and Evil, but between other, more fundamental forces. Like Creation v Destruction....or Order v Chaos Which means that we might realize that (ultimately) it may be in our intersts for NEITHER **side*** to win. Because we may find out that we are simply pawns in a conflict where neither side really has what is in our best interests at-heart. What I think will happen is that Eris represents an IN-BETWEEN point. A nexus between the Light and the DARK. She is clearly a Guardian who was forged in Light....but was able to survive for many years by making use of the Dark. She refers/referred to Mara Sov as "My Queen"...so I wonder if she was originally "Awoken". Which means she was touched by the Dark...and has some powers that might find their source in the Dark. Lastly, although she is a Hunter, she clealry also has the powers and sensibilities of a Warlock. So I think she will play a vital role in us understanding exactly what The Darkness ulitmately is.....and will play a vital role in what is the ultimate resolution of this conflict in the Destiny Universe.

  • She said at the end "My queen". There's the Awoken queen Mara Sov but did she ever interact with her? My wild theory would be she found Taox. If you read the Book of Sorrow Taox had no love for Oryx and tried to stop the Hive by working through others. She would run and warn people about the Hive and then the Hive would come along and defeat her allies sending her back on the run. Maybe she got to the Moon and hid. Eris was running around for years (not sure about the exact time) maybe she found Taox and she helped Eris survive in return for her loyalty.

  • What if she fused with a warlock, one of the fallen ones from her fire team?

  • Actually I think I remember that any Guardian has the ability to be ANY class. Its that we just choose to "specialize" and become a Titan, a Warlock or a Hunter. It was probably a case that Eris initially decided to become a Hunter out of choice....but needed to develop the powers of a Warlock once she becamed trapped as a matter of survival.

  • That my friend is one hell of a theory...and I like it. I like when people put thought into their ideas. I really do foresee a further story line for Eris. I really want to see just what happened down there when she went up against Crota.

  • Probably what nearly happened to us in "Lost to Light".

  • Nah because that was us vs Oryx, not Crota

  • ...and You don't think Crota had many of the same powers?
